Introducing

I am beyond thrilled to share with all of you the newest addition to Salvaged Soul.

RIOT Social Club is next level. It is something that is not out there yet. I know that because until now there was nothing created by us. Two striving mothers and female entrepreneurs wanting to give opportunity to others in our shoes. I know I tend to rant but I wouldn't be me if I didn't. I want to give you guys a little background on how this idea came about. 

Erica of EP Design House and I started working together several months ago when I hired her to rebrand Salvaged Soul, I needed to show more of me through my logo, website, ect. She was ON POINT. Her work ethic was just as great as the designs she was creating for me. Always very responsive and anyone who knows me knows I am available. All. The. Time. So it's important when I am working with someone they are too. It's a part of business, especially if you are one to put your heart and soul into something you're building for yourself and your family. NEVER miss a beat. She never missed a beat. 

After working together on a couple more collaborations I felt like Erica got me. ||#soulsisters|| We could throw ideas back and forth about everything from our own businesses to other businesses we felt would do so great working together or could use our advice or input. Not in an insulting critiquing way but in more of a helpful way. We had been talking for months about putting together a group where woman can connect and leave with more than just a fun day. We would have up-and-coming female entrepreneurs connect with our RIOT Girl  the most influential and inspiring woman in the nation.  Also, somewhere to create collaborations. And so it was that 'RIOT Social Club' would be born. 

||CONNECT|| On top of hard work and dedication I strongly feel my constant push to connect with other woman has allowed me to build the clientele I have. Going all the way back to my business being less than a year old when I wrote into the 'Bethenny Show', had I not put myself out there and risked rejection I don't know if Salvaged Soul would be where it is today.  

||CREATE|| Always be you. Allow yourself to go off the trail sometimes and be creative. Do what fuels your fire, I promise it will show through. 

||COLLABORATE|| This might be the all time key to success. I'd dare to bet on it. It's a win win win! Sometimes you have to give in order to receive. What I mean by that is when you're building a business networking and collaborating will put you on a platform and provide not only a great experience working with fellow entrepreneurs but it's marketing in the most effective way.   

We will be holding our first social on an invitational base for the kickoff. Thereafter we will have a limited number of tickets that can be purchased prior to the event date.

5 Interior Design Trends of 2015 by #momthebuilder

Here we go! I am really excited about this article I am writing and getting to share some of my favorite 2015 interior design trends with you guys. I have such a love for interior design and I am so fortunate that I get to be part of an industry I am so passionate about.

1. Mid Century Modern: This is one of my favorite 2015 trends by far. I personally am a huge fan of mid-century modern and I am happy to see all the these styles coming back. Palm Springs aka soul of mid-century modern is one of my favorite getaway's and to see all the life in these homes with their original beauty makes my heart flutter. Designing and building more mid-century modern pieces will be a huge part of my business for 2015. This mid-century modern style accent chair can be found on Furniture.com, this is definitely one of my go to pieces and would be a great fit in any room.

2. Geometric Furniture & Décor: ANYTHING geometric is fab! I love the clean lines and versatility with shapes, modern but playful looking. Simplicity at it's best whether it be an octagon shaped rug or dining table. Add some flare to a babies nursery or even your kitchen with my triangle wall shelves.

3. Furs & Cow Hides: These for me will ALWAYS be a trend. I'm obsessed with cozy time and fur throws are where its at. I have a few fur rugs that I love as well. Now days you can find them in pretty much any color too!  As for cow hides, they are so rustic but so chic at the same time. Both furs and cowhides are timeless and will go with any style of décor in a home.

 4. Colors: I'm not going to lie this whole color trend took a little while but has fully grown on me and I am digging everything about the colors of 2015. You know how it was always popular to stick with neutrals and add a pop of color? Well now it's the opposite. I am talking deep royal blue, emerald, and red! Finding furniture in these colors is key to having a room really pop. Whether it be an oversized red headboard or finding the perfect blue sofa. Metallics go great with these fierce colors of 2015 as well. So let's say you have your "safe" neutral furniture already, you better get to painting! One accent wall in one of these three colors would make a world of difference in a room.

5. Rustic Wood Furniture & Accent Walls: This is more of a timeless trend to me as well. You can take the most beat up reclaimed wood coffee table and place it in front of a vintage victorian sofa and it will go perfect. Or you can have a bathroom full of glossy black subway tiles with a gold chandelier,  put a rustic vanity in the space and it will end up being the focal point of that room. I have designed and built some beautiful rustic wood beds, they will never be off trend either. You can always design and decorate around a rustic wood piece of furniture. Another really great thing to do with rustic wood is accent walls. I recently did a set of oversized, each measuring 4' x 7' barn doors for an accent wall. That is and will always be the focal point of that beautiful space.

HGTV's Flip Or Flop host Christina El Moussa Q&A for Home & Styles by #momthebuilder

Christina El Moussa Co-Host of HGTV's Flip Or Flop

So let me just start by saying how obsessed I am with this show and if you have not seen it yet it is a MUST for sure. Christina is a beautiful wife and mother who just so happens to star in a HGTV hit show with her husband. But she's not just a pretty face, this girl can put a Beverly Hills home to shame with one of their auction flippers. She has an eye for design and is always surprising me with the most amazing renovations ever. She has inspired me in many ways, one of which is never judging a book by its cover when it comes to house hunting. You can ALWAYS make something that was once quite ugly very pretty, especially if you watch a few Flip Or Flop episodes to get some great tips. I love her out of the box thinking, luxury has no limits with Christina. It does not matter where the home location is or what the home looks like at the time of purchase, by the end it will be perfection. Be sure to tune in Tuesdays 9pm I 8c.

q: Tell me how you would describe your home style.

a: Hmm this is a hard question. It doesn't fit under one category. We our currently remodeling our entire home and we are going with a lot of black, white, gray, and silver colors. As in custom black cabinets with modern counters and gray flooring. I add some of my flare with geometric pillows, fur throws, and chandeliers. I like clean lines but with some glam elements.

q: What about your home would surprise people?

a: We took out two bedrooms and added a home gym. 

q: Does your home reflect your fashion style?

a: Yes. I like both my clothing and my home to be pretty with a little edginess thrown in. 

q: What or who inspires you?

a: My Friend Bethany owner of pink laundry boutique in villa park. She has 4 kids, runs her own biz and is so genuinely nice and classy and is always so effortlessly put together . Also her home (she designed herself) is one of the best decorated and designed homes I've ever seen

q: & most importantly. What is your personal favorite Salvaged Soul piece

a: One piece that I really love is the custom rustic kid and/or doggie barn door gate. Normally these gates are such an eye sore. But you made it a true design piece. I think it's so rad and I will definitely get one when I have another baby (or get a puppy) whichever comes first
